Help a Head Start Child Get Ready for School This Year!

Head Start programs promote school readiness of children by supporting the development of the whole child. Head Start provides comprehensive health, nutrition, and education services to children living in poverty.

The North Dakota Head Start Association is asking for your support to repair and replace glasses for North Dakota Head Start children.

Experts say that roughly 80 percent of what a child learns in school is information that is presented visually. Good vision is essential for children of all ages to reach their full academic potential.

Head Start programs work with families to secure glasses for their child through resources available to the family. However, families often need help with repairs and replacement glasses. As adults we know the challenge of not breaking or losing our glasses. Imagine how difficult this is when you are 3 or 4 years old!

The premise of Head Start is simple: every child, regardless of circumstances at birth, has the ability to reach their full potential. The NDHSA works with Head Start Programs across the state to support families and staff. Thank you for changing children’s lives!
